The United Arab Emirates accounts for 57% of Boeing's outstanding aircraft order backlog in the Middle East, highlighting the country's growing influence in the global aviation industry as its airlines continue expanding their fleets.
According to Boeing's latest 2026 data, UAE carriers have more than 530 aircraft on order out of 938 outstanding Boeing orders across the Middle East, making the country the manufacturer's largest regional market.
The figures underscore the continued fleet expansion plans of the UAE's leading airlines, led by Emirates, Etihad Airways and flydubai, as demand for international air travel continues to recover and airport infrastructure expands.
Emirates remains the world's largest customer for Boeing's 777X program, with 270 aircraft on order. The airline has been one of Boeing's most significant long-haul customers and is expected to play a key role in the introduction of the next-generation wide-body aircraft.
Etihad Airways also maintains a substantial order book, with 81 Boeing 787 Dreamliners on order, including 23 aircraft yet to be delivered, alongside 15 Boeing 777X aircraft awaiting delivery.
Meanwhile, flydubai continues to be Boeing's largest regional customer for the 737 MAX family, with 115 aircraft still on order as the low-cost carrier expands its regional and international network.
Boeing's latest data also showed that UAE airlines currently operate more than 300 Boeing aircraft, while cumulative orders placed by customers in the country have reached 1,288 aircraft since the American manufacturer entered the UAE market.
Industry analysts said the size of the order backlog reflects the UAE's position as one of the world's fastest-growing aviation hubs, supported by strong passenger demand, expanding airline operations, aircraft leasing activity and continued government investment in airport infrastructure.
The country has continued investing heavily in aviation as part of its long-term economic diversification strategy, strengthening Dubai and Abu Dhabi's roles as major international transit and business travel gateways connecting Europe, Asia and Africa.
With hundreds of aircraft still scheduled for delivery over the coming years, the UAE is expected to remain one of Boeing's most important international customers and a key driver of future commercial aviation growth in the Middle East.
