Dubai – The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has signed nine strategic cooperation agreements with major property developers and free zone authorities to enhance infrastructure planning, improve traffic flow, and ensure road safety across the emirate.

The agreements aim to simplify the approval process for infrastructure projects, regulate activities within public roads and right-of-way areas, and uphold stringent safety standards. This initiative is aligned with Dubai’s long-term vision for sustainable urban development and efficient transportation networks.

Key Developers and Authorities Involved

The agreements were formalized with some of Dubai’s leading developers and free zone authorities, including:

  • Emaar Properties
  • DAMAC Properties
  • Majid Al Futtaim Properties
  • Nshama
  • Al Futtaim Properties
  • Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC)
  • Dubai Healthcare City
  • Dubai Investments Park
  • Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority

Enhancing Road Infrastructure and Compliance

Bader Al Siri, Executive Director of Right-of-Way at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, emphasized that these agreements align with RTA’s strategy to optimize the management of Dubai’s right-of-way areas and create a unified framework for infrastructure development.

“These partnerships will improve the efficiency of Dubai’s road network, enhance traffic flow, and ensure the safety of both motorists and pedestrians. Collaboration between RTA, developers, and free zone authorities is essential to maintaining world-class infrastructure,” Al Siri stated.

He further highlighted that the agreements support the implementation of Law No. (4) of 2021, which governs road usage within development areas and free zones in Dubai. This legislation establishes guidelines for infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and contribute to the emirate’s sustainable growth.

A Step Towards a Smarter, Safer Road Network

With Dubai’s continuous expansion and the increasing demand for seamless connectivity, the new agreements mark a significant step in strengthening public-private collaboration. By centralizing infrastructure planning and regulatory compliance, RTA aims to enhance service levels, reduce project delays, and reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for smart and efficient urban development.
