Dubai, February 1, 2025 – The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on February 23 is driving a surge in flight and hotel bookings, with airfares increasing by up to 50%. Travel experts warn that last-minute prices could double, as fans rush to secure tickets for one of the biggest cricket rivalries in the world.

Travel Demand Soars Ahead of High-Stakes Match

Dubai has always been a popular destination for cricket fans, but the demand for travel and accommodation ahead of this match is unprecedented. Travel agencies report a steady rise in bookings, with a massive spike expected in the final two weeks before the match.

“Whenever India and Pakistan face off, we see a sharp increase in flight and hotel bookings. Many travelers wait for last-minute deals, but this time, waiting could mean paying much higher prices,” said Raheesh Babu, COO of Musafir.com.

During past tournaments, flight fares between India, Pakistan, and Dubai surged significantly in the days leading up to the match. A similar trend is now unfolding, with airlines expected to add extra flights or deploy larger aircraft to meet the demand.

Which Cities Are Seeing the Highest Demand?

With fans traveling from all over the world, key departure cities include:

India – Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune
 Pakistan – Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad
Other Countries – UK, Australia, Saudi Arabia

Industry analysts note that Dubai’s hospitality sector is also feeling the impact, as fans look for affordable and luxury accommodation options near the match venue.

Hotel Prices Surge as Availability Drops

Hotels in Deira, Downtown Dubai, and Dubai Marina are witnessing record-high occupancy rates, with bookings rising each day.

Budget hotels are filling up fast, with many already sold out.
Luxury hotels on Sheikh Zayed Road and Palm Jumeirah are experiencing a rise in premium bookings.
Short-term rentals and Airbnbs are becoming a popular alternative, with many listings already reserved for match weekend.

“During past India-Pakistan games, hotel prices have risen by 25-50%, and in some cases, rates have gone up tenfold,” said Rikant Pittie, co-founder of EaseMyTrip.

Match-Day Packages in High Demand

With travel demand soaring, agencies are offering exclusive match-day packages that include:

 Flights and hotel stays
 Match tickets
 VIP hospitality experiences

In previous tournaments, India-Dubai travel packages were priced at around $2,500 (Dh9,175) for four-star hotel stays. Similar pricing is expected this year, with luxury packages offering premium seating, exclusive screenings, and themed hospitality experiences.

Book Now or Pay More Later

With ticket sales, flight bookings, and hotel reservations increasing daily, travel companies advise fans to finalize their plans as soon as possible to avoid steep last-minute costs.

“Waiting could mean paying double or even triple the normal price. Fans should book now while options are still available,” added Raheesh Babu.
