UAE Achieves Record Emiratisation Rate with 131,000 Citizens in Private Sector

For the first time, 131,000 Emiratis were employed in the UAE's private sector in 2024, marking a remarkable 350% increase. This milestone was highlighted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister, during the first Cabinet meeting of 2025. Sheikh Mohammed credited the success to initiatives like the Nafis programme and strict enforcement of Emiratisation policies.

    • Foreign trade surpassed Dh2.8 trillion for the first time.
    • Foreign direct investments reached Dh130 billion.
    • Industrial exports were valued at Dh190 billion.
    • 200,000 new companies joined the UAE's business ecosystem.
    • Emirati youth launched 25,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
  2. Legislative Updates

    • A three-year project updated 80% of the UAE's economic, social, and regulatory legislation.
    • Over 2,500 officials contributed to this effort, enhancing the country’s business environment.
  3. Tourism Milestones

    • 30 million guests visited tourist facilities in 2024.
    • 150 million passengers traveled through UAE airports.
  4. National Development

    • Over 750 national projects and initiatives were launched to foster growth and attract talent.
    • 1,300 Cabinet decisions were issued to create a supportive regulatory environment for the next two decades.
