SPARK and Google.org Launch 'Maharat for Tourism' E-Learning Hub in Egypt

Cairo:SPARK, in collaboration with EYouth and with support from Google.org, has officially launched the Maharat for Tourism E-Learning Hub in Egypt. This pioneering platform aims to equip 25,000 individuals across the MENA region with essential skills tailored for the tourism industry.

The launch event, held at the Triumph Plaza Hotel in Cairo, witnessed the participation of over 100 stakeholders, including representatives from Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism, industry experts, and digital learning professionals. The initiative aligns with Egypt’s national vision to enhance workforce skills and boost tourism sector growth.

Empowering Tourism Professionals with Digital Skills

With the tourism industry rapidly evolving, Maharat for Tourism offers free, high-quality training programs designed for both aspiring and experienced professionals. The platform features interactive courses on digital skills, business management, and customer service, ensuring that participants remain competitive in the dynamic job market.

The initiative aims to bridge the skills gap and foster a digitally empowered workforce, contributing to Egypt’s economic resilience and job creation in one of its most vital industries.

Strategic Partnership with the Ministry of Tourism

Recognizing the significance of workforce development, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism has extended its support for the platform, emphasizing its role in modernizing training programs and ensuring long-term industry sustainability.

Dina Almasaeid, SPARK’s Regional Programme Director, highlighted the impact of this initiative, stating:
