Sharjah has introduced several key changes to its paid parking system in the last few months. These changes, which started in late 2024 and are set to continue into 2025, aim to enhance the city’s parking efficiency. From extended parking hours to new zones where fees apply, here’s what you need to know about the recent updates.

1. Seven-Day Parking Zones and Extended Timings

One of the most notable updates to Sharjah’s parking system is the extension of parking hours. Since November 1, 2024, motorists are required to pay parking fees from 8 am to midnight in seven-day parking zones. This is a significant shift from the previous time frame, which was from 8 am to 10 pm. These 16-hour paid parking zones operate every day, including public holidays.

Parking zones across the city are clearly marked with blue signage, and fees can be conveniently paid via SMS. For detailed parking fees, you can check with local authorities or online resources.

2. New Parking Fee in Al Dhaid

Starting January 1, 2025, parking fees have been introduced in Sharjah’s Al Dhaid area. The parking charges apply from 8 am to 10 pm, from Saturday to Thursday. As with other zones, parking is free on Fridays, except in areas where fees are applicable throughout the week, including weekends and public holidays.

This move aligns with Sharjah’s push to streamline parking management and generate revenue for urban development.

3. Parking Fees to be Introduced in Kalba City

In another major development, parking fees will be introduced in Kalba city starting February 1, 2025. The new parking fee schedule will follow the same structure as in Al Dhaid, where motorists will be required to pay from 8 am to 10 pm, Saturday to Thursday. As with other zones, parking remains free on Fridays, except in specific zones where fees apply throughout the week.

Parking Subscription Options

To simplify parking management for residents and businesses, Sharjah offers various subscription plans. These include personal and business parking plans, which allow subscribers to use paid parking zones according to their preferred schedules. The plans cover either the entire city or specific areas, with fees varying depending on the selected option.

For a seamless parking experience, users can opt for prepaid parking subscriptions, ensuring they always have access to paid parking spaces when needed.
