Virat Kohli and ICC tournaments – a love story that never gets old! The Indian batting maestro played yet another unforgettable knock, scoring 100 off 111 balls, as India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in a thrilling Champions Trophy clash.
A Perfect Comeback for Kohli
With critics questioning his recent struggles against spin, Kohli walked in under pressure. But the former captain stayed calm, rotated strike, and let Shubman Gill dominate early. His first boundary came in the 13th over, when he stylishly drove Haris Rauf to the fence, also crossing 14,000 ODI runs.
Kohli reached his half-century in 62 balls, tactically handling Pakistan’s spinners while punishing the pacers.
Records Shattered, History Made
- Surpassed Shoaib Malik as the highest run-getter in IND vs PAK Champions Trophy matches.
- Became the third-highest run-scorer in international cricket, overtaking Ricky Ponting.
With the match heading into the final over, Kohli held his nerve. And in true Kohli fashion, he finished the game with a boundary, bringing up his 51st ODI century and leading India to yet another famous victory over Pakistan.
