Google is set to unveil its latest Pixel-branded hardware at a launch event on August 20 in New York, with artificial intelligence expected to be a central theme of this year’s offerings.
The “Made by Google” event will introduce four new smartphones, the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, as well as the Pixel Watch 4. The launch comes just weeks after Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 hit the market, setting the stage for another competitive season in premium smartphones.
While the upcoming Pixel models are expected to maintain the core design language of the Pixel 9 series, Google is reportedly making notable changes under the hood. The Pixel 10 lineup will debut with the company’s latest Tensor G5 processor, now manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), marking a shift away from Samsung as its primary chip supplier.
The foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to be more budget-friendly than Samsung’s $2,000 Galaxy Z Fold 7, though not as thin. Still, the device is expected to emphasize Google's AI capabilities, with deeper integration of Gemini AI across apps and functions.
All new Pixel phones will ship with Android 16 and feature a refreshed user interface revealed earlier this year at Google I/O. The redesigned OS focuses on bold visuals and smarter user interactions powered by AI.
The move to host the Pixel event in August, ahead of Apple’s traditional September iPhone launch, reflects Google's continued strategy to capture market attention early. The company began this schedule shift last year.
Despite trailing Apple and Samsung in U.S. smartphone market share, Google’s Pixel phones have garnered praise among tech users, especially for their camera performance and early access to Android updates.
