Dubai’s aviation industry celebrated a major win last week as Emirates SkyCargo and dnata earned top accolades at the World Air Cargo Awards 2025, held during the Air Cargo Europe event at Messe München.

Emirates SkyCargo was named Airline of the Year (Middle East and Africa), a recognition of its innovation, exceptional service standards, and pivotal role in driving airfreight growth across the region. The division continues to bolster global trade, recently launching a new ‘Aerospace and Engineering’ vertical to handle high-value aviation parts and engines.

“Moving highly specialised items is always an exciting challenge,” said Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior VP of Emirates SkyCargo. “We’ve invested heavily in world-class infrastructure to meet these demands.”

Meanwhile, dnata, one of the world’s largest air services providers, was awarded Regional Air Cargo General Sales & Service Agent of the Year. Operating in over 30 countries across six continents, dnata’s award reflects its excellence in sales, cargo handling, and service delivery to over 300 airline clients.

Together, the wins reinforce Dubai’s strategic position as a global logistics and cargo hub, with Emirates SkyCargo alone moving over 6,900 tonnes of goods weekly from Europe—including pharmaceuticals, seafood, and industrial components. A significant 43% of this volume is flown into the Middle East, with another 32% directed to the Far East and Australasia.
