The Dubai Public Prosecution has confirmed that a Gulf national, identified as R.H., will stand trial in the Dubai Criminal Court after being arrested for public intoxication, causing a riot, and assaulting police officers.

Incident and Legal Proceedings

According to an official statement released by the Dubai Media Office, R.H. was taken into custody after causing a public disturbance while under the influence of alcohol. Authorities reported that she not only disrupted public order but also directed obscene language toward Dubai Police officers and physically assaulted them during the incident.

Following an investigation, the Public Prosecution determined that there was sufficient evidence to refer R.H. to the Dubai Criminal Court for further legal proceedings.

Authorities Emphasize Rule of Law

The Dubai Public Prosecution reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law, stating that all individuals—regardless of nationality—are subject to legal accountability.

"Anyone who violates the law will be held accountable," the statement emphasized, reaffirming that Dubai remains steadfast in enforcing legal standards to ensure public safety and order.

Alcohol Consumption Laws in Dubai

Authorities also reminded residents and visitors of Dubai’s strict alcohol regulations. While alcohol consumption is permitted in licensed restaurants, bars, and lounges, drinking in public areas remains strictly prohibited.

Individuals are allowed to consume alcohol in their private residences, provided they hold a valid alcohol license. However, failure to comply with these regulations can result in legal action, as demonstrated in this case.

Ensuring Public Safety

Dubai continues to enforce stringent laws to maintain order and protect the rights of its residents and visitors. This case serves as a reminder that violations, particularly those involving public disturbances and law enforcement personnel, will be met with serious legal consequences.

Further updates on R.H.'s legal proceedings are expected as the case progresses in the Dubai Criminal Court.
