Sharjah: The Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs (SDIA) has officially inaugurated two new mosques—Al-Sahabi Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram Mosque in Al Hamriyah and Al-Harith bin Anas Mosque in Al Suyoh. The newly constructed mosques collectively accommodate over 1,350 worshippers, including designated prayer spaces for women.

Enhancing Spiritual Facilities

This initiative aligns with SDIA’s broader efforts to enhance spiritual facilities across the emirate, particularly in preparation for Ramadan. By expanding access to worship spaces, the department aims to provide a comfortable and serene environment for mosque-goers.

Al-Sahabi Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram Mosque – Al Hamriyah

Located in Al Hamriyah East, this mosque spans a total area of 2,750 square meters. The facility includes a spacious main prayer hall, service facilities, and a public reading library. It has a total capacity of 1,000 worshippers, with 100 designated spaces for women.

Al-Harith bin Anas Mosque – Al Suyoh

Situated in Sharjah’s Al Suyoh (Al-Mowrrada 1 area), Al-Harith bin Anas Mosque occupies a 2,816-square-meter plot. The mosque features a well-designed prayer hall and service facilities, accommodating up to 350 worshippers, including 50 spaces allocated for women.

Architectural Significance

Both mosques showcase a fusion of traditional Islamic architectural elements with modern design aesthetics. Their construction was made possible through the generous contributions of philanthropists, reflecting the strong culture of charitable giving in the UAE.

Strengthening Community Ties

The opening of these mosques underscores Sharjah’s commitment to fostering spiritual and community connections by ensuring accessible worship spaces for its growing population. The initiative is part of the emirate’s ongoing efforts to develop religious and social infrastructure that caters to residents' needs.
