Riyadh — Saudi Arabia reported SR49.4 billion in international visitor spending during the first quarter of 2025, marking a 9.7% year-on-year increase, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
The kingdom also posted a SR26.8 billion travel account surplus, up 11.7% from the same period last year, reflecting strong momentum in its growing tourism sector.
Officials credit the growth to coordinated national efforts aimed at boosting tourism’s contribution to the economy. These efforts include service improvements, destination development, and alignment with the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which targets 70 million annual tourists by the end of the decade.
The Ministry said the results affirm Saudi Arabia’s position as a rising global tourism hub and reinforce its commitment to economic diversification beyond oil.
