DUBAI — Commuters in Dubai and Sharjah will now benefit from an expanded smart parking network, as Parkonic, the UAE’s leading private parking operator, rolls out Salik-integrated parking services at 18 new locations this week. The move further reinforces the country’s vision for a seamless, digital-first urban infrastructure.

In collaboration with Salik, Dubai’s road toll operator, the new integration allows motorists to enter, park, and exit without the need for tickets or physical barriers. Fees are deducted automatically from their Salik eWallet or paid via the Parkonic app, ushering in a fully contactless, streamlined experience.

“The integration of Salik’s payment system with Parkonic’s smart parking technology introduces a truly contactless parking experience,” Parkonic told Gulf News. “This does not alter current parking rates—it simply offers a faster, more efficient user journey.”

New Locations Announced

According to Parkonic’s official announcement, the following sites are now equipped with automated parking payment via Salik:

  • Union Coop Nad Al Hamar

  • Union Coop Al Twar

  • Union Coop Silicon Oasis

  • Union Coop Al Qouz

  • Union Coop Al Barsha

  • Union Coop Mankhool

  • Union Coop Umm Suqeim

  • Lulu Al Qusais

  • Park Islands

  • Marina Walk

  • Heera Beach, Sharjah

  • West Palm Beach

  • The Beach JBR

  • Opus Tower

  • Azure Residence

These locations join Parkonic’s existing portfolio of over 150 parking sites across the UAE, including high-footfall destinations such as Palm JumeirahThe Museum of the Future, and Saadiyat Beach.

Smart Parking for a Smart City

The newly upgraded parking areas require no paper tickets, access cards, or payment booths. Motorists can simply scan an on-site QR code, use the Parkonic app, or rely on automatic license plate recognition, which triggers a fee deduction from their Salik account if no manual payment is made.

“It’s all about convenience—no queues, no hassle, no physical interaction,” Parkonic emphasized.

This latest development stems from the 2024 strategic agreement between Salik and Parkonic, aimed at integrating Salik’s digital wallet across Parkonic’s expansive parking network. That agreement laid the foundation for frictionless mobility solutions across major commercial and leisure zones in the UAE.

Looking Ahead

The enhanced system is expected to significantly reduce congestion at parking entries and exits, especially in densely populated urban and retail hubs. With more residents adopting cashless and mobile-based solutions, Parkonic’s smart infrastructure supports Dubai’s ambition to become one of the world’s smartest and most livable cities.

As the UAE continues to embrace digitized public services, Parkonic’s integration with Salik is being seen as a model for public-private collaboration in mobility innovation.
