Sharjah: Meliha Dairy Farm, which has gained significant popularity in the UAE with its organic milk, has expanded its range with the introduction of Meliha Laban, just in time for Ramadan. The product was unveiled at the second Al Dhaid Agricultural Exhibition, marking a new milestone for the brand.

The expansion into laban follows the remarkable success of Meliha’s milk products, which have been flying off shelves throughout the UAE, with customers often waiting in long lines. Khalifa Al Tunaijim, Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah, stated that this product line expansion is a direct response to the rising demand for fresh, locally produced organic dairy products.

New Product Details

Meliha Laban will be available in three different sizes: 2 litres, 1 litre, and 180 ml. The dairy farm has an impressive daily production capacity of 16,000 litres of organic laban. The product will be available at Sharjah Cooperative Society branches from January 22, with broader distribution expected to begin next week.

In addition to laban, Meliha is planning to introduce a new range of dairy products aimed at children, which will be free from artificial additives and flavored naturally. These products are set to be launched by the end of January.

Organic Benefits

Meliha’s dairy offerings stand out due to their rich content of A2A2 protein, which is known to be easier on digestion, making it an excellent choice for people with sensitivities to other dairy types. The farm also produces around 40,000 litres of milk every day, contributing to the local supply of organic dairy.

Sheikh Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has designated 2025 as the "Golden Year," a time to focus on the nation’s organic food security initiatives. The Meliha Dairy Farm’s “Ektifa” program aims to increase the herd to 8,000 cows by the end of this year, with plans to expand to 20,000 cows over the next three years. This move is aimed at meeting the rising demand for high-quality, locally produced dairy both within the UAE and across the Gulf.

Focus on Health and Quality

Meliha’s expansion is part of the UAE’s broader commitment to healthier living and ensuring the availability of safe, high-quality food for its population. As organic food options become increasingly popular, the UAE government continues to prioritize food security and sustainable farming practices, supporting local producers like Meliha.

As Ramadan approaches, the new laban and upcoming dairy products are expected to be popular among families looking for healthy, nutritious options for their meals.
