Abu Dhabi’s newly launched Fahid Island will soon be home to a super-premium British school. King’s College School Wimbledon, one of the UK’s most prestigious educational institutions, has confirmed it will open its first campus in the region on the island.
The announcement was made by Aldar Education, the education arm of Abu Dhabi master-developer Aldar, just days after Fahid Island’s official launch. The new K-12 school is expected to open by September 2028, pending final approvals.
The addition of King’s College School Wimbledon is being seen as a significant boost to Abu Dhabi’s educational landscape, offering a globally recognized British curriculum and a direct pathway to top-ranked universities around the world.
This development also marks the second major British school expansion in Abu Dhabi in recent months. Taaleem recently confirmed a new campus for Harrow School, another highly regarded British institution.
Fahid Island is positioned as one of Abu Dhabi’s most exclusive new destinations, with residential, lifestyle, and cultural offerings. The inclusion of a high-caliber international school aligns with the city’s vision to offer a world-class living experience to residents and investors alike.
