Abu Dhabi — Etihad Airways has officially inaugurated the commercial debut of its new Airbus A321LR, operating its first flight from Zayed International Airport to Phuket. The landmark journey on Friday signals a new era for luxury travel on narrowbody aircraft.
Flight EY414, the first of its kind using the A321LR, was fully booked across First, Business, and Economy cabins. Designed to mirror Etihad’s award-winning widebody service, the aircraft introduces premium features on short and medium-haul routes.
“The A321LR symbolises our ambition to deliver extraordinary experiences on every route,” said Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways. “It brings our widebody sophistication to even more destinations and travellers.”

Two enclosed First Suites featuring 20-inch 4K screens, flat beds, sliding doors, and onboard fine dining

Fourteen Business Class seats in a 1-1 herringbone layout, offering direct aisle access and 17.3-inch 4K displays

144 Economy seats equipped with 13.3-inch 4K screens, USB ports, and Bluetooth headphone pairing
All classes include high-speed Wi-Fi, expanded overhead storage, wireless charging, and advanced cabin comfort.
Etihad has received the first of 30 A321LRs scheduled to join its growing fleet. The aircraft are aimed at enhancing connectivity and passenger experience on regional routes while maintaining the carrier’s reputation for world-class service.
