Brazil has officially removed the United Arab Emirates from its list of jurisdictions with preferential tax regimes, a move that signals deepening economic ties and enhanced trust in the UAE’s financial governance.
Announced by Brazil’s Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, the decision follows the UAE’s consistent alignment with global tax transparency standards. Officials credit the milestone to close cooperation between both nations and the momentum created by the official visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed to Brazil in late 2024.
UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, called the development a “testament to UAE diplomacy” and a step toward expanding mutual investments and sustainable growth.
With bilateral trade exceeding $4.3 billion in 2024, the UAE remains Brazil’s top Arab trade partner. The removal is expected to boost cooperation in priority sectors like trade and investment and reinforces the UAE’s standing as a trusted global business hub.
