Al Ansari Financial Services PJSC has expanded its partnership with global money transfer company Western Union by extending its international remittance services through its subsidiaries in Bahrain and Kuwait, the company announced.

The new agreements involve Bahrain Financing Company (BFC) in Bahrain and Bahrain Exchange Company W.L.L. (BEC) in Kuwait, allowing customers in both countries to access Western Union's global money transfer network, which serves more than 200 countries and territories.

Under the expanded partnership, Western Union services will be available through BFC's network of 54 branches across Bahrain. In Kuwait, customers will be able to access the services through BEC's 53 branches, including locations at Kuwait International Airport.

The expansion comes amid growing demand for cross-border payment services across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), driven by increasing international mobility, business activity and remittance flows.

According to the company, customers will benefit from faster money transfers, improved digital capabilities and broader access to secure international payment services through established financial institutions in both markets.

Mohammad Bitar, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of Al Ansari Financial Services, said the expanded collaboration aligns with the group's regional growth strategy and strengthens the service offerings of its subsidiaries.

"The collaboration combines the trusted local presence of BFC and BEC with Western Union's extensive international network, enabling us to deliver greater convenience, accessibility and choice for customers transferring money overseas," Bitar said.

Nicolas Levi, Regional Vice President and Head of the Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan at Western Union, said the expanded partnership would further improve customers' access to reliable international money transfer services.

"By combining Western Union's global network with the established presence of BFC and BEC, we are making cross-border money transfers more convenient while helping customers stay connected with their families around the world," Levi said.

Al Ansari Financial Services said the latest agreements form part of its broader strategy to strengthen its regional financial services platform and expand access to international payment solutions across GCC markets.
