Sharjah-based airline Air Arabia has temporarily suspended flights to and from ten countries due to ongoing airspace closures in the region. The suspension affects flights scheduled for Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14.
The airline cited the current geopolitical situation and the closure of airspace in several nations as the reason for the disruption. Flights have been cancelled on routes connecting to Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.
In an official statement, Air Arabia also noted that some other flights may face delays or rerouting, depending on how the situation evolves. Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.
The widespread airspace closures follow Israeli airstrikes on Iran in the early hours of Friday. In response, several countries including Iran, Iraq, and Jordan restricted or closed their airspace, creating a ripple effect across major international flight corridors.
Other UAE-based carriers, including Emirates, Etihad Airways, and flydubai, have also reported cancellations and rerouting due to the same conflict.
Air Arabia has not yet confirmed when flights to the affected destinations will resume. The airline is expected to issue further updates as regional security assessments progress.
