The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has inked AED 6 billion ($1.64 billion) worth of strategic agreements with 12 UAE-based manufacturers to locally produce critical industrial components, including high-demand cables and pressure vessels. These long-term framework deals are set to create as many as 1,300 skilled jobs in the UAE’s private sector, while also fortifying the nation’s supply chain resilience.
Signed under the umbrella of the UAE’s “Make it in the Emirates” initiative, the deals aim to strengthen domestic manufacturing, reduce reliance on imports, and significantly improve delivery timelines across Adnoc’s supply operations. The signing ceremony was held during the Abu Dhabi Industrial Forum and was witnessed by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Adnoc’s Managing Director and Group CEO.
“These agreements are part of our ongoing strategy to expand our local manufacturing base and stimulate private sector growth across the country,” said Yaser Almazrouei, Adnoc Executive Director. He encouraged more suppliers to engage with Adnoc through its dedicated “Make it with Adnoc” platform.
The newly signed framework includes nine manufacturers specializing in ten different types of pressure vessels, and three companies focused on producing four types of industrial cables. These firms are located across major industrial zones such as ICAD, KEZAD, JAFZA, and Dubai Industrial Park.
The initiative also aligns with Adnoc’s wider In-Country Value (ICV) programme, which has already channeled over Dh242 billion back into the UAE economy since 2018. The company aims to inject an additional Dh200 billion over the next five years and plans to purchase Dh90 billion worth of locally manufactured products by 2030.
The ripple effects of these agreements are expected to benefit not only the energy sector but also the UAE’s broader industrial ecosystem. The investments will support economic diversification, boost technology transfer, and enhance competitiveness in high-value manufacturing.
With the latest announcement, Adnoc is reinforcing its role not just as a global energy provider, but as a key driver of domestic industrial growth and private sector employment.
