Dr. Asma Musa

Dr. Asma Musa

In the heart of Abu Dhabi’s medical community, Dr. Asma Musa stands as a symbol of compassion, knowledge, and leadership. As an OBGYN Specialist, Master of Health Professional Education, and Programme Director for Medical Students at Danat Al Emarat Hospital, she has dedicated her career to ensuring that women’s healthcare is not only clinically advanced but also deeply humane.

Since beginning her journey in obstetrics and gynecology in 2008, Dr. Asma has consistently embodied a patient-centered philosophy, one rooted in empathy, trust, and meaningful connection. For her, exceptional care begins with understanding. She believes that when patients feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for, they are more likely to open up and trust their healthcare providers. This foundation of trust transforms the doctor–patient relationship into a true partnership, allowing healing and confidence to flourish.

Her patients often tell her that she feels like part of their family, a sentiment that she considers the highest compliment. For Dr. Asma, such bonds exemplify what medicine should be: a blend of scientific excellence and heartfelt human connection. She has always emphasized that good healthcare is not limited to technical expertise; it’s about listening, validating emotions, and offering assurance when it matters most. This personal approach has made her one of the most respected and beloved professionals in her field.

Beyond her clinical excellence, Dr. Asma has continually sought to expand her knowledge and bring global best practices to her work. A major milestone in her career came in 2017 when she earned the prestigious Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her academic journey has since continued with remarkable achievements, a Diploma in Infectious Diseases from Ireland in 2024, a Certificate in Health Professional Education from a UK university in 2023, and certification as an Autism Specialist. Each accomplishment reflects her relentless pursuit of excellence and her commitment to improving patient outcomes through continuous learning.

As an educator and mentor, Dr. Asma is equally passionate about shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. Her Master’s in Health Professional Education empowered her to bridge her clinical expertise with teaching, enabling her to design programs that inspire and prepare medical students for the complexities of real-world healthcare. Her students see her not only as a teacher but also as a mentor who guides them with empathy, clarity, and purpose.

Her dedication to education has been recognized through numerous honors, most notably the “Teacher of the Year Award” in 2024, a reflection of her profound impact on medical learning and mentorship. This award serves as a testament to her unwavering belief that education is the cornerstone of progress in healthcare, and that nurturing resilience and reflective practice among medical students is key to building a more empathetic medical community.

Dr. Asma’s voice also extends beyond hospital walls. She has been invited to speak at national and international platforms, where she passionately addresses topics related to women’s health and well-being. Through these engagements, she not only shares her expertise but also contributes to the global dialogue on healthcare challenges and innovations. Her insights resonate with professionals around the world, emphasizing that modern medicine must balance precision with compassion.

Her research work focuses on two pivotal areas, reflective practice and resilience among medical students. By exploring how reflective habits can enhance clinical performance and how resilience supports emotional and professional well-being, she continues to influence the way future doctors approach both their studies and their patients.

Every milestone in Dr. Asma Musa’s journey has been defined by her ability to blend scientific rigor with a human touch. Her career is a living example of how compassion, when combined with excellence, creates lasting impact. As she continues her mission in obstetrics and gynecology, she remains devoted to empowering women, improving healthcare systems, and guiding young doctors to serve with both intellect and heart.

In an era where medicine is rapidly advancing, Dr. Asma Musa reminds us that empathy remains its most powerful force. Her story is not just about professional success but about shaping a healthcare culture built on trust, care, and human connection, values that will continue to inspire the UAE’s healthcare future.

Dr. Ambarish Gupta

Dr. Ambarish Gupta

A strategist at heart and an operator by craft, Dr. Ambarish Gupta has spent over two decades turning complex transformation agendas into measurable enterprise value. As the Operations Excellence Lead at NAS Neuron Health Services, one of the UAE’s leading health insurance TPAs formed by the merger of NAS and Neuron, he orchestrates the seamless integration of people, processes, and technology to deliver outcomes that matter, to members, providers, and payers alike.

Over his 21+ year journey, Dr. Gupta has become synonymous with structured transformation and scalable execution. His career reflects a consistent ability to translate board-level ambition into clear, executable portfolios and KPIs. Before his current leadership role, he spearheaded transformation programs as AVP, EPMO at Oman Insurance, and Program Manager, PMO at Cigna Healthcare, where he built governance frameworks, streamlined project pipelines, and embedded benefits realization into every delivery cycle. His colleagues describe him as both meticulous and motivating, a leader who combines disciplined program management with a calm, coaching presence that inspires high-performing teams.

What sets Dr. Gupta apart is his rare ability to connect North Star strategy with frontline execution. He designs operating models that are pragmatic and outcome-driven, right-sized stage gates, value-based prioritization, KPI trees tied directly to P&L levers, and agile feedback loops that ensure progress every quarter. His leadership extends across functional landscapes, claims management, provider networks, member experience, and regulatory compliance, driving tangible results such as improved loss ratios, lower cost-to-serve, faster cycle times, and enhanced customer satisfaction (CSAT/NPS). Whether steering multi-vendor technology programs in core systems, automation, or analytics, or leading human-centered change through capability building and performance dashboards, his approach remains consistent: clarity, alignment, and accountability.

Holding a Doctorate in Business Administration, along with top-tier professional credentials, PfMP, PgMP, PMP, MSP, PMI-ACP, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Dr. Gupta blends the strategic vision of a portfolio manager with the precision of a process engineer. His methodology integrates best-in-class practices: SIPOC and value-stream mapping to eliminate waste, DMAIC and control charts to stabilize performance, risk heat maps to anticipate disruption, and OKR-linked scorecards to maintain focus on enterprise priorities. He champions what he calls “governance without bureaucracy”, ensuring governance structures remain agile, adaptive, and enablers of speed rather than barriers to progress.

Beyond the mechanics of transformation, Dr. Gupta is known as a culture builder and mentor. He fosters transparency, shared ownership, and continuous learning within teams. His leadership style celebrates leading indicators of success, such as proactive risk management and collaboration, just as much as final outcomes. Within the Project Management Institute (PMI) community across the GCC, he contributes thought leadership and mentorship, guiding emerging PMO and CX leaders to navigate complex, regulated industries with ethics, empathy, and excellence. For Dr. Gupta, transformation is not just operational, it is cultural and deeply human.

His body of work is marked by several signature impacts: stabilizing large-scale portfolios with structured accountabilities and defined stage gates, accelerating executive decision-making through tiered governance cadences, eliminating variation in core processes via Six Sigma rigor, and building closed-loop voice-of-customer (VOC) mechanisms that directly improve operational and experience outcomes. Each initiative demonstrates his commitment to one principle above all, value realization over activity.

Looking to the future, Dr. Gupta envisions three critical horizons for the UAE’s evolving health insurance landscape. First, digitally enabled operations, leveraging automation, triage intelligence, and analytics to empower clinical, claims, and customer-service teams. Second, resilience by design, embedding supplier risk, regulatory adaptation, and cybersecurity into the DNA of portfolio risk management. Third, people systems that scale, building pathways for learning, mentorship, and leadership so that human capability keeps pace with technological innovation.

In a sector that must balance compassion with compliance, and innovation with integrity, Dr. Ambarish Gupta stands as a model of modern leadership. His compass remains unwavering: make strategy executable, make excellence repeatable, and make outcomes tangible, for members, partners, and the health systems shaping tomorrow’s UAE.
