After offering discounts of up to 90%, retailers across the UAE are preparing for more promotional campaigns and cashback deals in the lead-up to Eid Al Adha, as shopper traffic and spending rebound following a slow April and May.

The recently concluded 3-Day Super Sale (ending on June 1) has helped restore momentum to the retail sector. Categories such as clothing, perfumes, and accessories saw the highest activity, with retailers confirming a clear rise in customer spending.

“UAE residents are coming back after a 2-month lull. It seems many were saving for this sale and the Eid promotions,” said a fashion retailer. “The last two days have seen higher than average spending.”

Slowdown Turns Around with Eid Push

Retailers had expressed concerns about low demand during April and early May, which left many sitting on unsold inventory. The weekend discount event, along with upcoming Eid promotions, has eased those worries.

According to mall officials and retail sources, footfall surged over the weekend, with many stores seeing “much higher than average” traffic. F&B outlets also benefited from the increased number of visitors.

Some high-street and mall-based brands noted that if not for the hot summer weather, tourist shoppers might have further boosted the numbers. However, resident spending has been strong enough to make up for it.

Cashback and Financing Deals Boost Electronics Sales

Retailers in the electronics sector are now offering additional incentives. Companies like Jumbo Electronics have launched new deals targeting Eid shoppers looking for gadgets and small appliances.

“We’re offering 25% to 40% discounts across a range of categories including cameras, smartwatches, and TVs,” said Vikas Chadha, CEO of Jumbo Electronics. “Shoppers can also get 10% cashback with select banks and 0% payment plans through platforms like Tabby and Tamara.”

These deals aim to attract families shopping ahead of Eid and the back-to-school season.

Car Dealers Roll Out Eid Offers

The automotive sector, which had been experiencing slow sales since March, is also jumping on the Eid promotion bandwagon. Dealers are now introducing cash back incentives and attractive loan terms to encourage car buyers.

“There’s a bit of hesitation among buyers due to talk of tariffs and global pricing issues,” said a local car dealer. “But Eid promotions could help improve showroom activity.”

The market for secondhand cars has also been somewhat cautious, with consumers still weighing their options before making large purchases.

Clothing Sales Lead as Summer Stock Clears

Fashion retailers, particularly those dealing in pre-summer collections, have reported strong sales during the 3-day sale. The clearance of seasonal inventory has been timely, helping many avoid being stuck with excess stock.

“The mega-discounts helped us clear a lot of items quickly,” said one store manager. “We expect similar interest to continue during the Eid week.”

One Day Left: Last Chance for Mega Savings

The Dubai 3-Day Super Sale concludes on Sunday, June 1, giving shoppers one last opportunity to take advantage of major deals:

  • Up to 90% off across fashion, electronics, and lifestyle stores

  • More than 2,500 outlets and 500+ brands participating

  • Exclusive cashback offers on gadgets, appliances, and cars

  • Gift bundles and rewards for Eid shoppers

“This is the final chance to shop, gift, and save ahead of Eid Al Adha,” said Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, organizers of the sale.
