Sharjah has taken another step forward in its push for government digital transformation, with the Executive Council announcing the full digitization of the emirate’s rental process. The move is expected to significantly improve service accessibility and streamline rental procedures for residents and landlords.
The update was discussed during a Sharjah Executive Council meeting held Tuesday at the Ruler’s Office, chaired by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The session also included reviews of proposed amendments to the judicial fees law, currently awaiting final approval from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Digital Shift for Residents’ Ease
The council emphasized that residents can now complete rental applications entirely online, marking a major convenience upgrade aligned with the emirate’s broader smart government vision.
Officials stated that the digital rental platform enhances transparency, reduces paperwork, and cuts waiting times, key elements in Sharjah’s strategy to provide faster, more user-friendly public services.
Judicial Fee Law Reforms Underway
In addition to the rental system overhaul, the Council reviewed a draft proposal for judicial fee amendments, designed to modernize Sharjah’s legal and administrative framework. These changes are part of the ongoing effort to make the emirate’s legal services more efficient and accessible to the public.
Also attending the session were Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both serving as Deputy Rulers and Deputy Chairmen of the Executive Council.
The meeting reflected a continued commitment to service enhancement across sectors, with a special focus on supporting Sharjah’s expanding population and improving the day-to-day experiences of residents.
