Samsung has officially launched its slimmest flagship smartphone yet — the Galaxy S25 Edge — in the UAE, introducing a sleek titanium body just 5.8 mm thick and weighing 163 grams. The new model is priced at Dh4,299 for the 256GB variant and Dh4,799 for 512GB.
The Edge joins the Galaxy S25 series as a bold, design-forward option, positioning itself at the high end of the premium smartphone market.
“This isn’t just about thinness,” said T.M. Roh, President and acting Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience Division. “The Galaxy S25 Edge represents a breakthrough in form factor while delivering the same innovation that defines the Galaxy S series.”
Design and Build
Clad in Titanium Silver, Jetblack, and Icyblue, the S25 Edge pushes minimalist engineering further than any Galaxy phone to date. By comparison, the standard S25 measures 7.2 mm in thickness.
Samsung's design team emphasized that the new Edge retains durability and functionality despite the ultra-slim profile, while still fitting within the brand’s recognizable design DNA.
Performance and Features
Underneath its slim chassis, the S25 Edge carries forward many of the flagship features seen in the broader S25 series:
-
A 200MP wide lens with Samsung’s enhanced Nightography technology
-
The powerful ProVisual Engine, optimized for high-detail rendering, especially in low light and portrait modes
-
AI-powered editing tools such as Audio Eraser and Drawing Assist, carried over from the mainline S25 models
These features, Samsung says, ensure that performance and creative capabilities are not compromised for the sake of a thinner form.
Why It Matters in the UAE Market
Retail analysts in the UAE see the S25 Edge as a fresh addition to a market already receptive to innovation, especially in form factor. Foldable and flip models have carved out a solid niche — and ultra-thin phones may now follow suit.
“A thinner device category could gain strong traction in this region,” said a leading electronics retailer. “In markets like the UAE or Saudi Arabia, a couple of iterations and a loyal user base can build quickly.”
Samsung appears to be banking on exactly that, keeping its pricing consistent across the wider S25 series since their January launch.
Competitive Landscape
With the S25 Edge, Samsung enters a new showdown in the premium segment, going head-to-head with Apple’s recently launched iPhone 17 Air, also marketed for its thin build. For consumers who prioritize design without sacrificing flagship power, this model aims to strike that balance.
