Dubai, UAE – Motorists in Dubai will soon experience a shift in parking costs as Parkin, the operator of paid parking areas, prepares to roll out its new variable rate pricing system, likely from April 4. The new structure, which was initially set for a late-March launch, will introduce peak and off-peak pricing to optimize parking availability and traffic management.

Peak vs. Off-Peak Pricing

The revised rates will apply across Dubai’s designated parking zones—A, B, C, and D—with peak pricing enforced for six out of the 14 chargeable hours per day. Off-peak hours, from 10 AM to 4 PM and 8 PM to 10 PM, will maintain existing tariff structures. The rates will not be applicable on Sundays and public holidays.

Rationale Behind the Change

Parkin confirmed that the variable pricing structure aims to enhance parking management in high-density, high-demand areas and improve traffic flow, particularly during peak hours and major events in Dubai.

Earlier this year, the company introduced an hourly parking rate of Dh25 near exhibition centers and event venues during large-scale events.

The latest changes align with Dubai’s broader efforts to optimize urban mobility and encourage more efficient use of parking spaces.
