Dubai, UAE – In a progressive move to bolster family welfare, Dubai has introduced the 'Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme,' a new initiative offering work-from-home options and custom office timings tailored to support employees during significant family milestones. This scheme underscores the UAE's commitment to nurturing family-oriented policies and enhancing work-life balance.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Community Development Authority (CDA), offers Dubai government sector employees benefits such as a 10-day paid marriage leave and special remote work Fridays for new mothers. Huraiz Almur, CEO of the Community Regulation and Services sector at CDA, confirmed the implementation of these benefits, aimed at facilitating a supportive work environment for employees during crucial family periods.

Enhanced Family Benefits and Future Plans

Named after Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the wife of the Dubai Ruler, the programme not only supports current family needs but also plans for future expansions in education, health, and social services. These enhancements are in development in collaboration with relevant government entities, poised to further promote familial well-being and societal stability in Dubai.

Financial Stability through the Dubai Weddings Programme

An integral part of the initiative is the Dubai Weddings programme, which significantly reduces the financial burden on families by lowering housing loan premiums and providing priority access to ready-made housing. Launched last year, the programme has already facilitated 344 weddings, offering comprehensive support that includes covering ceremony costs, providing venues, and ensuring newlyweds have a seamless start to their married life.

Comprehensive Training and Development

The family scheme also incorporates training initiatives aimed at empowering young families and newlyweds. These include workshops on financial planning, marital rights, and essential life skills, provided in collaboration with educational and social development institutions.

Stay Connected and Informed

For ongoing updates and to take advantage of the new family programme benefits, Dubai residents can follow the CDA's official communication channels or apply directly through the Dubai Now app. As the programme evolves, further details and expansions will be communicated to ensure that all eligible employees can benefit from these transformative family support measures.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the UAE to foster an environment that supports family building and work-life balance, following the introduction of other family-centric policies like extended maternity leave and the creation of a Ministry of Family in Abu Dhabi.

For more information, employees are encouraged to contact their HR departments or visit the official CDA website to explore how they can benefit from the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme.
