Google has launched two major AI-powered video tools, Flow and photo-to-video animation, across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), expanding creative possibilities for users in the region. The rollout includes full Arabic language support and is available to Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
The new capabilities allow users to turn static images into animated eight-second video clips with sound, offering a fresh avenue for visual storytelling.
Photos That Move
Users can now select the “Videos” option within Gemini’s prompt interface, upload an image, and describe the scene they want animated. Google’s AI then creates a dynamic short video based on the description, from transforming a quiet sunset into a moving panorama, to animating hand-drawn art.
The final result is a downloadable or shareable clip, optimized for platforms ranging from messaging apps to content creation studios.
Flow: AI Filmmaking for All Levels
Alongside photo-to-video functionality, Google unveiled Flow, a dedicated AI filmmaking environment built around its most advanced models, Veo, Imagen, and Gemini. Flow enables creators to construct cinematic video sequences using natural language prompts combined with intuitive creative tools.
Key features of Flow include:
-
Camera controls for adjusting motion, angle, and perspective
-
SceneBuilder for extending story continuity with consistent elements
-
Asset management to organize prompts, scenes, and outputs
Designed for both hobbyists and professionals, Flow aims to democratize video production using AI.
MENA: A Growing Creative Hub
The launch comes as the MENA region emerges as a leading market for AI adoption and creative tech. Over the past seven weeks alone, more than 40 million Veo 3 videos were generated globally through Gemini and Flow, a sign of surging engagement.
All AI-generated videos are marked with a visible watermark and an invisible SynthID signature, ensuring clear attribution and responsible content practices.
Google stated that its goal is to empower regional storytellers and content creators, supporting the region’s rapidly evolving digital media landscape.
