The Hyatt Place hotel near Baniyas Square, Deira, remains closed following a fire that broke out late Friday night, resulting in the tragic deaths of two individuals. The property has been sealed off and restricted to public access, with only employees permitted on site.
Authorities responded swiftly to the fire, with Dubai Civil Defence teams arriving within minutes to manage the emergency. The fire was extinguished, and all guests were evacuated safely. However, many guests had to leave behind their belongings during the rapid evacuation.
Hotel management confirmed that all affected guests have been relocated to nearby hotels under the same operational management. “We ensured guests were transferred, along with their belongings,” stated hotel staff. For guests who left items behind, arrangements have been made for them to retrieve their possessions. They can contact the hotel with proof of booking, after which defence personnel will escort them to their rooms to collect their items.
Guests with future bookings are being directed to nearby properties, ensuring minimal disruption. The ground floor, housing restaurants and shops, has also been temporarily closed as a precautionary measure. The area surrounding the hotel is cordoned off with safety barriers while an investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
