Good health is one of the doors to happiness and a peaceful mind. With poor health, it is difficult to enjoy the pleasures and blessings of life and people around us. There is no scientific evidence of the amount of water we need every day but the general rule of thumb says 8 cups at least. Think of water as a nutrient your body needs that is present in liquids, plain water, and foods. All these different categories can replace the large amounts of water your body loses every day. Foods with high water quantity usually look larger, its higher volume requires more chewing, and it is absorbed more slowly by the body, which makes you feel full faster as well. Water rich foods include fruits, vegetables, broth-based soups, oatmeal, and beans.
Wake Up Early; Early Bird!
“The early bird catches the worm”, and so the expression goes. There are scientific evidences that waking up early has benefits on the early birds. Studies have shown that morning people are actually happier than night owls. This study was based on university students and it proved that early birds performed better than night owls throughout the year with noticeable differences in their GPA’s.
Keep your phone away at night
Keep a gap of at least 20 minutes from your phone before going to bed. Say “good night” to all your social media accounts and Wi-Fi; recite some of your daily prayers and go to sleep. Keep your phone out of reach, so you can actually get out of bed to switch off your alarm. If you need to play some music, turn it on flight mode; as this will significantly reduce the radiation levels. Doing this will help your brain defuse all the signals and radiation that it has been consuming throughout the day; and thus, you will enjoy better sleep patterns.
Walk, Walk, Walk, and Walk!
Don’t waste this great weather in cars and buses! Park your car further away, step off the metro one station before your usual drop point, and walk to the supermarket or do any of your daily chores. As the weather gets warmer, evening walks will be the solution! Enriched circulation, weight management, healthier metabolism and digestion are just some of the healthy benefits of walking for 30 minutes every day.
